Bluish-fronted Jacamar
Canopy Inkaterra Madre de Dios, Peru
After the sun started shining too brightly and the birds quieted, we left the canopy tower to explore the understory. There I picked up my very first Jacamar. They're not related, but to me they look like a cross between a kingfisher and a hummingbird. Photo © copyright by Joe Luedtke.
